After enjoying your breakfast, check out from your hotel and embark on a scenic drive to Agra, which will take approximately three hours.

These rulers transformed Agra from a modest village into a majestic second capital of the Mughal Empire. As you wander through Agra, you’ll encounter a striking contrast of architecture— from the robust red sandstone structures to the elegant white marble buildings, and from the narrow alleys to the charming horse-drawn carriages, all contributing to the city’s unique allure. Modern Agra has beautifully preserved its Mughal heritage, blending ancient splendors with contemporary life.

Mid-morning, begin your exploration of historic Agra with a visit to the imposing Agra Fort, constructed by Emperor Akbar in 1565. This massive fort is not only a spectacular fortress but also a complex of palaces, mosques, and gardens added by subsequent Mughal rulers, showcasing the refined artisanship of the era. Notable structures within the fort include the ornate Moti Masjid or Pearl Mosque, the Diwan-i-Khas, the Diwan-i-Am, the Jahangir Mahal, and the Shish Mahal, each a masterpiece in its own right.

In the afternoon, proceed to the Itmad-Ud-Daulah’s Tomb, often referred to as the ‘Baby Taj’. Built by the Mughal Emperor Jehangir’s queen in 1628 as a tribute to her father, this tomb is revered by many as the precursor to the Taj Mahal and is renowned for its intricate ‘Pietra Dura’ inlays and elegant marble screens set within a lush walled garden. Enjoy the peaceful ambiance and the picturesque views of the Yamuna River.

Later, visit the iconic Taj Mahal, an epitome of love and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this breathtaking monument is the result of 22 years of labour by 20,000 workers from across the Islamic world. As the sun sets, experience the unparalleled beauty of the Taj Mahal with its marble reflecting the changing colours of the twilight sky—a truly majestic sight.
